Learning Notepad for Kids

Notepad is a simple application used to write text. On this page, kids will learn:

1. Notepad Interface

Notepad has a simple interface with a blank area to type text and menus at the top:

Try typing the following sentences in Notepad:

• Today I will write my first text in Notepad.

3. Saving a File

Steps to save a file:

1. Click the File > Save As menu
2. Choose a destination folder
3. Type a file name, for example practice.txt
4. Click Save

4. Opening a File

To open a text file that has been created:

1. Click the File > Open menu
2. Select the file you want to open
3. Click Open
